I once went for a business meeting with an heiress to a well-known beverage company fortune. As I arrived, I saw an old Ford Fiesta in a field, and assumed it had been dumped there by joy-riders. After the meeting concluded, this woman who owned a substantial country estate and many fine houses got into this cheap car and drove off. I learned two things that day: really wealthy people are careful with their money, and they don't care what you think about their choices. Broke people, on the other hand, waste the little money they have playing status games.

lol yes, that does not surprise me. I live in a town where people do not show off their money. I will say that it varies. Some wealthy people don't show it & are careful, and some like to flaunt. Same with those who do not have a lot of money.

This resonated. I've never felt poor even when my circumstances shown otherwise. Shit, even now lol. Perhaps it's the Naija-hustle mentality or just the woman in me that refuses to bow down to all the weight that should otherwise overwhelm me into surrender... Nah son, I got this....one way or another.

Cheers to us both!
