New Date for Virtual Film Screening of Reflections Unheard + A Writing Update

Greetings Everyone! I’d like to share a couple of important updates…

The Virtual Film Screening and Discussion of Reflections Unheard: Black Women in Civil Rights has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 23rd. If you’re interested in watching the film and joining us, I’ve shared full event details below.

I’m postponing this event to offer myself more time and space to promote the screening, and also *drumroll* I’d like to host the event after the release of my upcoming article on Pauli Murray, which I’m hoping we can bring to the table and weave into a juicy live discussion at the film screening discussion. 

For now, I’m pouring my heart out into this piece, clicking my little fingers away, delving deep into all the research I’ve done for the past month. It’s been 4 days, and I’ve already written 6,000+ words. This article brings out a lot of passion in me. It feels a lot like cathartic, memoir-writing energy—only more in an essay-style format.

With the perspective I’m bringing forth in an educational and historical sense, this piece is groundbreaking, and I’m very excited to release and share it with the world! 

This new article is going to be the foremost piece of writing that I share, for Women’s History Month. And it might be the only thing I release in March, aside from my film screening. So if I’m quiet for a couple of weeks, you know why.

I promise, it will all be worth it.

Film Screening info for Reflections Unheard: Black Women in Civil Rights: 

Film Screening: March 21-23, 2024

Ticket-holders will receive a private link to the film via email, where you will have 48 hours to watch the film on your own time. Within that email, you will also receive a link to the community discussion, scheduled for March 23rd.

Film Discussion: Saturday, March 23rd, 2024. 12pmEST: 

Video Discussion/Q&A with Director (Me) and other readers/viewers.
